Fort Lauderdale Prep School Students Recognized with Pinnacle Award
FLPS 2012 Pinnacle Award recipients are:
Dasheny Monestime – Grade 5
Dasheny is being honored with the Pinnacle Award for her fine character, her genuine concern for others and her stronge academic achievements. Dasheny is always ready to help her classmates and is a member of the FLPS Elementary Honor Society.
Richard Skidmore – Grade 11
FLPS is proud to nominate Richard Skidmore for a Pinnacle Award. In many ways Richard personifies the attributes of this fine award. Richard has been a student at Fort Lauderdale Prep for 12 years and his many accomplishments could fill an entire page. He is a National Honor Society multi-year recipient, a respected member of the student body, a trusted school ambassador and a caring student mentor to our younger students. Over the years his teachers have expressed the joy that it has been to teach him and to watch as he has grown into an articulate, thoughtful gentleman.
Helton Sutherland – Grad 10
Helton is being honored with the Pinnacle Award winner for his consistent excellent effort, high academic achievements and gentle, well-mannered ways. He has been a student at Fort Lauderdale Prep School for over 10 years and is known for always giving a 110% effort on anything he does. Helton sets high goals for himself and achieves top grades. As an ongoing member of the FLPS National Honor Society he is both a gentlemen and a scholar. As a student aide to our elementary students, he has been a wonderful role model to others.
Fort Lauderdale Preparatory School, established in 1986, is a nationally recognized educational institution serving Pre-K through 12th grade and is accredited by SACS, NIPSA, MSA-CESS, and NCPSA. FLPS students receive a college prep, classical, liberal arts education, designed to fit individual needs and learning behaviors. FLPS is small by design and has been educating South Florida students for more than thirty years. The school accepts a variety of scholarships including McKay, Step Up for Students, VPK and Family Central, and also offers their own in-house financial assistance to students in need. The school’s mission includes helping young people to develop self-discipline, love of learning, and service to others.
